Green Hat Renewables is Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) certified for Air Sourced Heat Pumps, and will look after the design, product selection and installation of the correct Heat Pump to suit you.
We work with tried and tested brands such as Samsung, Vaillant and Mitsubishi to ensure the best solution for your situation.
The MCS scheme allows Green Hat to access the BUS grant for you which currently pays £7500 toward the cost of your installation, and there is also currently a 0% VAT rate on the installation.
Air Source Heat Pump
Air Source Heat Pumps save energy, meaning a greener environment and lower energy bills
for you.
The advantages of an Heat Pump –
An air source heat pump takes heat from the air and boosts it to a higher temperature using a compressor. It then transfers the heat to the heating system and hot water cylinder in your home. They work a bit like refrigerators in reverse.
Air source heat pumps work even if the temperature is well below zero.
- Heat pumps are highly efficient as they generate more energy than they consume. For example, with a COP of 3.0, 1kW of energy taken is 3kW of energy put into your heating system. Efficiency varies depending on system design, system sizing, heat loss and the weather.
- Air source heat pumps generate less CO2 than many conventional heating systems

Heat Pump Servicing
Green Hat Renewables can carry out annual ASHP servicing to ensure that your Heat Pump continues working at optimum levels throughout the year.
We fix faults and ensure everything works to keep your you, your family and your property warm.
Air Source Heat Pumps need to be serviced regularly (at least annually) for the following reasons:

- to comply with MCS regulations to enable you to continue to receive your RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) payments.
A service will generally take around 2 hours on site plus travelling time. If there are faults to be diagnosed and fixed this will take at least an hour.
- Check system operation and system settings
- Clean heating system filter
- Check external evaporator heat exchanger
- Check heating system anti-freeze level
- Check system expansion vessels
- Domestic hot water cylinder and pressure relief valves (PRV’s) operation check
- Tightening of electrical connection and anti-vibration mounts
- Ensure no leaks
- Check Hot Water pasteurisation settings
- Record system operation parameters
